About
PixelShip is a game I made for the PyWeek2 programming contest. The theme was "steam", and the goal was to make a complete game from scratch in a week. Using Python, of course.
I entered because:
- It sounded like fun
- I needed to learn something about SDL for a highschool programming project
- I knew next to nothing about Python.
- It seemed like a good idea at the time...
After selecting PyGame as my SDL wrapper library, (no contest really) I started reading all the documentation I could get my hands on and producing some of the worst Python code you’ll ever see. I compare my style to that of a drunken Qbasic programmer who dosen’t know how object oriented programming works. That’s pretty much true, except for the drunken part.
But in the end, with the help of a lot of the people on #pyweek, I managed to crank out what you see here.

This is the unmodified version I submitted to PyWeek. Thus, it has bugs. Such is the nature of the beast.
